There are 3 different ways to color and decorate your roses.
1. Pour white wax with no color, just scent. Then when they are cool, remove them from the mold and sponge color of your choice, and add glitter with sponge for some extra sparkle if you like.
2. Color and scent your wax and accent with matching glitter using a sponge.
3. Color and scent wax, then when cooled you can accent with a darker shade of paint using a sponge.
Then if you would like you can top off with matching glitter using a sponge.
STEP 1 Heat wax to required temperature color if needed and scent. Pour wax in your rose mold at 160 degrees. Painting And Decals
STEP 1 Remove your pillar candle from the mold.
STEP 2 If you dyed your base, skip the next step.
STEP 3 Paint the base using a darker brown, and a medium paint brush paint lines on the pillar, some up and down and then going across to give it a basket look.
STEP 5 Cut out the desired decal, close to the design. Soak in warm water. When decal starts to slide off paper, it is time to apply to the base . Hold the one side of decal with your finger and with other hand gently and slowly pull the paper out from under the decal. With a paper towel gently smooth out any bubble or lines. You can position decal at this time, continuing to smooth out bubbles and lines. Once decal is in place and smooth, let completely dry and cure.
STEP 1 Remove candle from mold.
STEP 2 Drill 1/32’’ hole in center of rose for the wick to be pulled through.
STEP 3 Paint and decorate, if needed.
STEP 1 Heat votive pillar wax to required temperature and add your color and scent . Pour into your whipping bowl and let stand until a film forms on top. At this time start stirring and whipping the wax with either a fork or wire whisk and scrape the sides of bowl as you go. The wax should be a little chunky looking. When the whipped wax starts to get stiff and hold its shape, it is ready to use.
STEP 2 Using large spoon, put a couple of spoonfuls on top of the pillar going all around the wick and the top of the candle. Pull wick thru rose and press rose down onto the whipped wax, so that the whipped wax is pushed out all around the bottom of the base of the candle and the rose. Repeat this with all pillars that you need to make.
Let Completely Harden
At this time you can use dark green paint and gently sponge around the whipped green to give some depth and dimension to your candle. You can also use a little dark green glitter on the whipped green to add some bling and sparkle.
Enjoy! I hope you enjoyed this project as much as I did! Happy candle making.
